War Horse.

"War Horse was extremely poignant. Woolf writes in 'The Mark on the Wall' 'Curse this war; God damn this war!..." and that was exactly the sentiments which were echoed in this play. It had a sincerely depressing quality but the story itself was very gripping. Woolf also says in the short story 'Yes, one could imagine a very pleasant world. A quiet, spacious world, with the flowers so read and blue in the open fields' and I feel the main character Albert would agree, he wants a simple life where he can enjoy life with his horse, Joey, and instead is confronted with the brutality and aggression of a global conflict." - journal entry from October 18th
