Monk's house/exploring.

On the National Trust website, it says of Monk's house "the house appears as if they just stepped out for a walk" and I couldn't agree more. I really felt as though we were shown a great look at what life was like for the Bloomsbury Group writers. The home was so peaceful and so clearly a respite from the hectic lives they experienced in London.  I enjoyed both home tours, and getting to listen to the gardener's daughter speak of her time at Monk's house was really unique. The gardens were beautiful and eclectic, and it was so easy to picture the parties and get togethers the group of friends had. I was really impressed by how well maintained the homes were, and that so many books and personal items have been preserved this long, so that students and fans alike can still experience what life was like in the Bloomsbury era, even decades later." -from my journal, October 17th
